Delta TechOps Services Group Celebrates Pratt & Whitney Founding
In 1925, two major aerospace companies began their journey’s, Huff Daland Dusters, the predecessor of Delta Air Lines, and Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Company.
This July, we celebrate the establishment of Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Company, known today simply as Pratt & Whitney.
For the last 96 years, our two companies have brought innovation to the aviation space and developed a long-lasting partnership.
The Delta TechOps Services Group (DTSG) is proud to provide maintenance support for several legacy Pratt & Whitney engines and support their family of next-generation engines.
Back in 2019, we began our partnership with Pratt & Whitney as a world-class provider in their global GTF MRO Engine Network and currently work the PW1100G and PW1500G in our state-of-the-art engine shop.
Leaders from Pratt & Whitney and the GTF program recently visited the Delta TechOps facilities and had the opportunity to see our work first-hand. Joe Sylvestro, VP, Aftermarket Global Operations at Pratt & Whitney, said “We are also fortunate to have collaborators who are just as dedicated. Pratt & Whitney Aftermarket and our global MRO colleagues have to stay in lock step, adapting and modernizing so that together with our customers we can keep their operations running smoothly.”
“Our partnership with P&W is one of complementary strengths with a strong common bond for expertise and mutual dedication to provide customers around the world exceptional MRO service,” said Don Mitacek, Senior Vice President, Delta TechOps and President, Delta TechOps Services Group. “We thank Pratt & Whitney for their continued partnership and congratulate them on nearly a century in the industry.”
The FAA recently accepted Delta’s application to utilize camera-based, small drones to conduct visual inspections of our aircraft in the operation. Delta TechOps was granted this acceptance earlier this year and has thoughtfully been implementing drone inspections into our maintenance processes. These conditional visual inspections will initially be used following lightning strike events, and the […]
