Delta developing mobile hospital rooms to treat and transport U.S. military members with COVID-19

In partnership with the U.S. Air Force, UTS Systems and Highland Engineering, Delta TechOps and Delta Flight Products have developed medical pods to treat and transport deployed military members who have contracted COVID-19 or been exposed to other infectious agents. Teams from Delta’s Technical Operations division and wholly owned subsidiary Delta Flight Products combined their advanced manufacturing capabilities to begin converting dozens of single-use, 40-foot shipping containers into rapidly deployable, reusable hospital care pods. Each pod is designed to attach inside military transport aircraft.

At next week’s annual Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) in Hamburg, Germany, Delta Flight Products will present several accessibility-focused products, including two seats that allow customers to remain in their own wheelchair for the entire journey, and an accessible lavatory which accommodates entry of an onboard wheelchair and up to 2 attendants.   Since its debut at […]
